Life is truly a learning process, constant evolution based on experience, observation, and education.

In 2018 my holistic nutrition business was just getting started and my vision of sitting at my desk meeting with clients and handing out a primarily food-based prescription was about to be crushed. I learned so much about the role food plays in our lives. It gives us energy, and impacts our sleep, our aches, and pains, and even our mood!

I thought changing the way people eat was enough to fix most common ailments. And it might be if not for that one undeniable problem, we are human, and humans are complex. 

It all seemed so simple, I give you a plan, you follow the plan, and you feel better. No rocket science is required. Most of my clients (not all) told me they were looking for weight loss, and I knew that my plans would give them the results they desired, but not everyone had success. It would seem easy enough to understand why some people struggled, they just didn't follow the program.

But it wasn't that simple and I knew it. 

First people are rarely ever looking for weight loss, even if that's what they say they are looking for. What people want is to feel confident, and energized, to wake up looking forward to the day. Weight gain, inflammation, and low energy are all just symptoms of something that is far more complex than calories in, and calories out. My clients had trouble sleeping, they were dehydrated, and they had stress at home, at work, and sometimes in their social life.

My goal wasn't to be just another "weight loss coach" my goal was to make people actually healthy and happy.

To do this I had to do more. 

This is where Thrive was born. The name has changed, and the content has evolved, but the fundamentals have remained the same. We are each unique individuals with experiences and challenges that are ours alone, but the foundation for fixing what ails us is universal. Knowledge combined with action and perseverance will take anyone who is willing wherever they choose to go. For some, the journey feels natural like a flowing downstream, for others it can be a struggle like paddling up the river with an undersized oar, but we will all get there. 

Thrive Group Coaching starts with twenty separate lessons on a wide range of topics including nutrition, movement, aging, relationships, and more.

There are currently twenty topics for self-directed learning including do-at-your-own-pace quizzes to confirm your knowledge. We have our community support group where like-minded people share and accept ideas and inspiration. What really makes the group special is our biweekly group meeting (hosted on Zoom) where we dig deep into thought-provoking topics all designed to move us in the right direction.

I'd love to believe that we all get another chance at this thing called life, but just in case we don't I'm going to make the absolute most out of this life I have right now. I'm not going to tell you it's easy, that you won't struggle, or that you won't want to give up. I'm just telling you that I know it will all be worth it. You are capable of so much more, reach for it, strive for it.
